“My Type of Day” Poster
Organized chaos. That's usually how an average Tuesday goes for me when I'm in the middle of the school year. With this project, the ultimate goal was to allow the type to enable the composition to have an emotional aura while utilizing the type to do so. Hierarchy also became a factor as larger, more prominently colored typography established more emotion.
For the structure of this poster, I loosely followed a landscape-oriented 5-column grid. In my composition, it can be seen that limited type variation and a simple color palette were used. The overall aesthetic I desired to achieve with this piece was to have reserved tones of simple type clashing with the bright magenta to cause visual conflict. That visual conflict along with the torn paper shape and the organic lines helped me achieve that “organized chaos” I was looking for.
